Will 225 Tyres fit 8J rims?

Its the most natural size and although not much difference it give you more contact patch on the road and if you look at other manufacturers like Subaru, lotus and Mitsubishi they all put 225's on 8J rims.

Yes, in fact it's probably the ideal rim width for a 215. Not sure what your exact tire size is, but I did a quick check on a 215/60/15, and most of the tires were recommended for a 5.5"-8" rim.
